1. Kansas City Chiefs: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia

Most people have the Chiefs taking Joeckel here, but I’m sticking with Geno Smith until we get an answer on whether the Chiefs sign Brandon Albert. If they let Albert walk, then Joeckel becomes the target.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State

Jaguars have a lot of needs but I think they get the best value by picking Werner. They struggled getting a pass rush from their DE’s last year, and Werner would be an instant impact player.

3. Oakland Raiders: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah

The Raiders have a lot of holes along the defensive line. Richard Seymour and Desmond Bryant are Unrestricted Free Agents, and I think Lotulelei is a good replacement at Defensive Tackle.

4. Philadelphia Eagles: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

Not sure what the Eagles plan on doing with King Dunlap, but if Joeckel falls to them at No. 4, then I think they have to take him. I currently have Joeckel ranked as the No. 1 player on my big board.

5. Detroit Lions: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M

I think defensive end is a big need for the Lions and lucky for them, Damontre Moore is still available at No. 5. Corner is another big need, so Dee Milliner is another option, but I think Moore is the best available player.

6. Cleveland Browns: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia

I really struggled with this pick. Chance Warmack, Jarvis Jones, and Dee Milliner are all solid options. It sounds like the Browns will be moving to a 3-4 defense, so I’ll go with Jones who was a dominant pass rusher at Georgia.

7. Arizona Cardinals: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan

Eric Fisher had a huge Senior Bowl week and should be an excellent fit in Arizona. The Cardinals struggled mightily at Left Tackle in 2012, which is why I think is is a no-brainer pick.

8. Buffalo Bills: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama

Won’t be a popular pick among Bills fans but I think a QB would be a major reach here. It’s unknown whether Andy Levitre will get the Franchise Tag, but if the Bills let him walk then Warmack would be a good replacement.

9. New York Jets: Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB, LSU

The Jets have struggled to get a pass rush with their 3-4 OLB’s, and Mingo can fill that role. Mingo had 8 sacks at LSU his sophomore year. He wasn’t as dominant in 2012 but he still has a huge upside.

10. Tennessee Titans: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State

If Warmack isn’t selected at No. 8 then the Titans would be smart to pick him here. I think this pick will also be influenced on whether or not the Titans believe that Mike Martin can replace Free Agent Sen’Derrick Marks.

11. San Diego Chargers: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma

Chargers could go a number of different ways with this pick. OT, OLB, and CB are all big needs this off-season. I think this is a little too high for Johnson but I think the Chargers have to try to get Rivers some help in protection.

12. Miami Dolphins: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama

Most Dolphin fans want them to take a WR in the 1st Round but I think they would be better off by waiting until the 2nd Round. If they don’t sign Sean Smith then I think this pick is easier to make.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri

This pick will hopefully get a lot clearer once free agency begins. Michael Bennett, Ronde Barber, and EJ Biggers are all Unrestricted Free Agents for the Buccaneers. For now I’ll take Richardson here and pair him up with Gerald McCoy at DT.

14. Carolina Panthers: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida

The Panthers struggled at DT in 2012 and their best DT is a Unrestricted Free Agent this off-season. Floyd is a good pick for them at No. 14. Floyd led the Gators in TFL in the 2012 season with 13.

15. New Orleans Saints: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon

An injury has pushed Jordan down the board some, but he would be a good pick for the Saints here. Jordan is very athletic and with New Orleans moving to a 3-4 Defense, he would be a good edge rusher for them.

16. St. Louis Rams: Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas

I was down to either OG Jonathan Cooper or Vaccaro with this pick and decided improving their secondary would be the best option. Vaccaro led the Longhorns in tackles and had 2 interceptions in 2012.
