Earlier this week on Twitter, Peter King called the 2013 draft the most unpredictable he’s seen in 30 years. In other words, this mock draft is more or less just for fun. Expect to see a ton of trades, in part because most teams view the 5th best player about the same as they view the 25th best player. Likewise, that could mean some surprises high in the draft where teams believe a certain player is worth a top 15 pick, whereas others have him in the mid-second round (Ryan Nassib is one of those players).
Seemingly every team is looking to move down because they believe they can get an equal value player at a lower spot. This does give you an idea of where teams are leaning and the need positions they have. It doesn’t necessarily jibe with my board, but it’s an expectation of roughly where these players will land the teams most interested in landing them.

NFL Draft day is here and the editors of KCCD have joint efforts to make a mock draft to determine how the draft might go, not will go. Jason took the odd picks and Elliot took the even picks.

This is it, NFL fans, the final mock draft of the 2013 Draft season. Over the past 3 months I have released a mock draft ever week but this one will be different from the rest. This one will be seven rounds and there will be major changes in every round compared to the mock drafts I have released in the past. Be sure to follow me on Twitter @Elliot_Dennis or @ChiefsDraft as I will be posting my thoughts on the draft as it happens.

1. Detroit Lions (From KC) – Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
Detroit needs to get Stafford a true LT pass protector and Joeckel is one of the best pure pass blocking tackles in recent memory. They make the move up because of fear that the top three tackles go before their pick, which in my draft they do.

1. Kansas City Chiefs: OT – Luke Joeckel; Texas A&M
- The Chiefs have been locked in on Joeckel since the Combine. Despite putting the franchise tag on Brandon Albert, who is potentially getting moved very soon, they will wisely fortify their offensive line with an anchor of a left tackle. Unless the Chiefs can find someone who desperately wants to move up to the top spot, an extremely unlikely scenario, they really have no choice but to take the player that is most likely to become a franchise player for them.
