Chiefs Positional Need:

I personally feel that this entirely hinges on whether Dwayne Bowe returns or not. Others feel less confident in Jon Baldwin then I am. If Dwayne Bowe is allowed to walk then WR becomes a very real target in the second round.

Kansas City Chiefs 7 Round Mock Draft

We only have 4 weeks of football left in Kansas City in 2012. The roster we thought was among the leagues most talented and deepest in preseason hasn’t lived up to the hype. The positions that will need upgrades are obvious and if they weren’t I received numerous messages on Twitter about which positions need to be upgraded.

Some mocks might say that there aren’t any “franchise” QBs available, but I see it differently. Look at the draft with Matt Ryan. Many said the exact same things about him and now he’s an MVP candidate. My point is, we need a QB in Kansas City desperately and we will have our choice. Target a QB and go get him. The fans will support it just for the fact you are trying to improve the position.

The rest of this draft I filled with help in areas of need. Defensive back, Wide Receiver and Defensive Line to name a few. Let me know what you think or how you would handle this in the comments.

5 Receiving Prospects the Chiefs Should Target After Round 1

Let’s face it, the Chiefs’ offensive problems are not based solely on the quarterback. One area of concern that has to be addressed in the 2013 Draft is wide receiver.

With Bowe most likely to walk this offseason (the Chiefs won’t franchise him 2 years in a row), wide receiver is a top need this offseason. The Chiefs WR corps after Bowe hasn’t been very good this season. Jonathan Baldwin hasn’t been able to get open, Steve Breaston doesn’t see the field anymore, and the only thing Dexter McCluster has been consistent with is tipping the ball into a defender’s waiting arms.

With a quarterback almost assuredly going to the Chiefs in the first round in the upcoming draft, wide receiver must be addressed between rounds 2-4.
